Ashley Maddix is a birth photographer serving the Savannah area and owner of Ashley Maddix: Birth & Lifestyle Photography. We asked her a couple of questions to get to know her better.
What do you do in your role?
I capture the most memorable moments of a family's life and present them in such a way as to tell a story.
What is your favorite problem to solve for your clients?
As a dedicated photographer, I take a load off of my clients during their birthing process. Instead of taking photos during the birth, the significant other or other supporter of the mother is able to give them their full support and comfort.
What is a success story you've had in your role?
Every time a mother expresses the emotions she feels after reviewing her birth story is a success story for me.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I spend time with my husband and two sons. I am a slave to good food, and so is my husband. I am also learning how to crochet . . . little by little.
What is a helpful tip you'd like to share with the local birth community?
I would advise expecting mothers to educate themselves in everything they can about the birthing process. Research. Research. Research.
